Yoshihiro Suda

Born in 1969 in Tokyo. He lives in Tokyo.

Suda uses magnolia wood to create sculptures of plants and flowers so realistic one might mistake them for the real thing. Suda's methodology is above all to bring back to the fore values such as technical skill and beauty that contemporary art has neglected. The artist creates installations by collaborating with existing space, although in the sense that he introduces "plants and flowers" he has made himself, these installations cannot be called site specific. At times the works are arranged in such a way that they are almost impossible to find. As Suda says, "In the final analysis, isn't presenting something in such a way that it cannot be seen also a valid presentation method?"
