Born in Beersheba in 1974, lives and works in Tel Aviv.

Erez Israeli is a multidisciplinary artist. Using sculpture, video, photography, installation, and print, he engages with modes of representation of death, national memory, and commemoration of the soldiers who fell in Israel's wars as well as the memory of the Holocaust. Many of his works address the corporal and personal dimension of memorial services. With visual talent, diverse techniques of expression and sensitivity to the material's tactility, Israeli takes the myths and pathos composing the Israeli commemoration culture to their extreme, exposing its real nature in a poetic and grotesque manner. His treatment of these issues contributes unpredictable and unsettling points of view to the Israeli discourse.
