Dina Shenhav

Dina Shenhav

Born in Jerusalem in 1968,
lives and works in Ramat Gan.

Dina Shenhav has been creating with her foam mosaics a unique language that incorporates sculpting, installation, and painting. The contrast between the fragility of the material and the rigidity of the still objects in her sculptures imbues them with tension. Shenhav's point of departure is the material and its intrinsic logic, which she bends and molds according to her needs. The installations look like archeological documentations of fictional environments, at times mundane and at times sublime-apocalyptic or primal-and hold hints to social issues that generate a political discussion.
