Amir Yatziv creates profound and complex photographs, video works, and experimental films that mix truth and fiction. His works explore layers in recent and distant history and its concrete and metaphorical landscapes. They draw on existing historical and cultural representations, examine the fictional in these representations and replace it with a new fiction.
Using a minimalist, consistent language, Yatziv creates mesmerizing and fascinating images that cross different expanses and times. His works offer a reflexive examination of the medium of video contrasted with representations of reality and fiction in the history of cinema, and echo contemporary culture.
